Bistro Charlemagne second branch at  Ayala Feliz

I had visited many restaurants already and aside from great food - presentation, taste and price , I also consider the accommodation/customer service I receive everytime whenever I dine in.

Sometimes even if the food taste is good, and that customer service fails, I will remember more how I have been served and accommodated.

They served sisig - as the ussual taste is spicy crispy but their signatured uniqueness is made of octopus, then the lumpiang hubad which is my most favorite presentation with it's so inviting look makes your tummy to get so excited to have it, I love it because I love vegetables, then finally their roasted chicken - the taste was so light and common, prawn poppers creaminess and spiciness is though is a big kick off in my tastebuds, it awakens my love for prawns and lastly their beef tenderloin - which was cheezy and taste lingers - it was a beautiful presentation.

Overall - the taste of their food is a sure hit that makes you feel so at home.

About the restaurant look - the set up is fine enough for family dine in bondate. And also good to bring your barkadas because that food that they serve has many variations. So surely you'll have an unforgettable dining moments with your loved ones. Location is very good because there is a garden overviewing the city near the restaurant.

The price is okay because servings are good for group already . Having not to spend more but still have a satisfying gastronomic experience. Then lastly and most importantly to me is the customer service - we had a chance to meet with the owner and He is very hands on and the staff are all approachable - excellent customer service.

So what are you waiting for - visit Bistro Charlemagne in their second branch at the 5th level of Ayala Feliz Mall . I can assure you that you'll definitely love it and want to comeback again and again. Soon they'll open their 3rd branch in Paranaque Bay area and sure they will open more branches in the coming years!

Congratulations Bistro Charlemagne! Cheers!

Woodland experience with my Family

My last travel was in April last year at Puerto Princesa Palawan.

My ideal getaway gets even more sophisticated after , it was very special trip to me because I got to spend it with my two lovely nieces.

When I and my mom decided to join my sister's trip to Nagcarlan Laguna, I was really expecting an extraordinary getaway that would WOW me. Not to mention having these to spend with my family makes this already extra special to me.

Our travel went smooth with just some interruption which was a bridge under construction on our way to the resort.

When we finally arrived, the cool breeze weather welcomed us , and it immediately made us feel at home. The amazing pine trees were so captivating, that gave  us awesome and relaxed feeling that turned away the humid hot weather in Manila. This is surely a kind of getaway that you would love to spend with your family.

Upon check in, the house that we had was so spacious.  All the bank beds gives  a homey feeling. An ideal getaway really need not to be very expensive. Just having a perfect place with a perfect weather and scenery plus spending it with your family will surely make a perfect getaway...I will definitely comeback and share this wonderful experience.

Eco Hotel Philippines Introduces Camping & Grilling Activities in Tagaytay
Eco Hotel Philippines just turned 1 last Saturday, November 17, 2018. We celebrated the
milestone with lifestyle and travel bloggers while we also introduce our managed budget hostel property, Dormitels Philippines.
It’s hard to believe that just a year has passed and yet we have accomplished and learned so much. Aside from being the first green hotel chain in Tagaytay, we were also the first container hotel in the city. We took our passion for art to the next level, by hosting our Eco Art Festival and emblazoning murals with a cause on our walls.
Containers also made us brave enough to venture into our own eco-friendly restaurants, as we  have Camping & Grilling proudly serving Filipino favorites on our roof deck. Our anniversary party will also serve as the media launch for Camping & Grilling, and introduce this new concept to our guests. We realized that we still have a lot to offer, especially to our loyal and returning customers. What other out of the box experience can we create so that our guests will keep coming back?

And what’s the best way to bond while camping? Grilling and drinking around the fire, of course. That’s why we have also prepared our Grill tent, with ten tables where guests can prepare and grill the food themselves. Eco Hotel Announces Chinampa Taqueria Grand Opening in Tagaytay

Eco Hotel is excited to announce the opening of its third restaurant venture, Chinampa Taqueria. The green hotel chain has recently been trying its luck in the food industry, with this Mexican restaurant as its latest brainchild. The grand opening is set on October 31st, 2018 at 6 PM in Cabins by Eco Hotel, Tagaytay.

Chinampa is the first passion project by Chef Elgin Alonso upon returning to the Philippines. Elgin was previously the Sous Chef at the Ritz Carlton Dubai, and came back home to Manila earlier this year. He wanted to introduce authentic Mexican cuisine to the Filipino palette, and after surveying the Tagaytay food scene discovered that this was exactly what was missing.

The roof deck at Cabins by Eco Hotel provides a quaint and unique location for this taqueria, with its unobstructed view of Taal lake and an open-air set up to enjoy the chilly Tagaytay weather. It’s a great way to enjoy classic Mexican dishes, such as soft tacos and burritos. Appetizers like Nachos and Chili Dynamite match perfectly with a cold beer.

Food is prepared fresh daily by Chef Elgin, as he also caters to the in-house guests. Chinampa offers Huevos Rancheros, a Mexican breakfast staple, for that extra authentic kick. The taqueria is open for lunch and dinner as well, Tuesdays to Sundays.

Eco Hotel would like to invite everyone to join us in opening Chinampa this Halloween! We will have live acoustic performances by popular local bands Lenses, Hilera and Autotelic. For only PHP 150 entrance fee, guests will get a free beer and unlimited nachos while supplies last.

For details and reservations, please visit www.ecohotels.com.ph or contact Millie Manahan, at 0927 673 7674..

Follow Chinampa on Facebook and Instagram @chinampaph. We hope to see you there! Andale, andale!

ONE Interim Bantamweight World Champion Kevin

ONE Interim Bantamweight World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon is expecting a massive turnout from Filipino fans when he takes on reigning ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes at ONE: HEART OF THE LION in Singapore on 9 November.Home to thousands of overseas Filipino workers, the Singapore Indoor Stadium has enjoyed a huge Filipino crowd whenever ONE Championship hosts an event in the country known as “The Lion City.”

When Eduard Folayang challenged then-ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya Aoki in November 2016, the stadium exploded from the screams of Filipino fans that filled every section of the state-of-the-art showground to support the beloved Filipino mixed martial arts superstar "Fighting in Singapore is almost like fighting in Manila. Thousands of Filipinos are based there, and they never fail to show support when their fellow Filipino is scheduled to compete at a ONE Championship event," Belingon said.

"I was there when Eduard Folayang pulled off the unexpected against Shinya Aoki to capture the ONE Lightweight World Title in 2016. Filipino fans were cheering for Eduard from start to finish, and the stadium erupted from the chants of countless Filipinos when he was officially crowned as the new ONE Lightweight World Champion," he added.
Now more than ever, Belingon is banking on crowd support when he takes on Fernandes in their highly-anticipated rematch on 9 November.

"I expect the same support, and hopefully an even bigger turnout from Filipino fans when I challenge Bibiano Fernandes for the ONE Bantamweight World Title on November 9 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Our country is known for its passionate and knowledgeable fans who never fail to show massive support for one of their own," he stated,.
Should the usual massive Filipino crowd show up, Belingon feels that it would help him muster an inspired performance to get crowned as the undisputed ONE Bantamweight World Champion.

"I know how big of a following ONE Championship has from Filipino fans. I'm confident that they will flock to the stadium and show support in what would be the biggest and most important bout of my career. A huge Filipino crowd will surely help bring out an inspired performance from me as I attempt to bring the gold-plated belt back to the Philippines," he ended.

BAVI is first Filipino company to provide leadership coaching to store managers

Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI), makers of Chooks-to-Go, has created Leadership Development, an internal coaching unit that provides leadership coaching programs to middle management employees and even first-time management trainees.
Since its launch in 2017, the Leadership Development unit has rendered an estimated more than 600 hours providing leadership seminars and coaching to about 100 store managers who handle more than 1,000 stores of BAVI’s roasted chicken brands nationwide.

“The results have been promising so far. Since people undergo coaching, they have someone they can talk to, process their experiences, come up with better ideas, and therefore, better performance,” shares Atty. Nedo Sasing, BAVI vice president for Human Resources. In a recent evaluation, BAVI discovered that business units that undergo coaching delivered five percent more sales versus those that did not, a huge boost given the large volume of chicken that the company brings to Filipinos every day.

In some large multinational and even Filipino-owned companies, it has become a practice to send top-level executives to leadership coaching seminars and workshops or contract external groups for a series of leadership training sessions among middle management employees. But BAVI president and general manager, Ronald Mascariñas, took a leap of faith, choosing to invest in an internal coaching unit with a deep understanding that the 21-year-old company will need high quality leaders from top-to-bottom to ensure its success in the next decades.

"BAVI is the first Filipino company that I know that has deliberately and extensively used leadership coaching as a strategy to improve business performance," said Gerry Plana, Investors in People Philippines CEO and People Management Association of the Philippines past executive director. “Their decision comes from a firm belief that corporate excellence is strongly driven by leadership excellence. And leadership excellence can only be ensured through a continuing coaching process and not a one-off leadership event.”

Leadership Development spearheads BAVI’s organizational development programs and is on track to expand its coverage to other company units and impact as many employees as possible with coaching.BAVI president and general manager Ronald Mascariñas believes in investing in people, regardless of rank or tenure, and providing what they need to be the best version of themselves.

 Filipina atomweight standout Jomary Torres

YES , this is it After first career loss, Filipina atomweight standout Jomary Torres motivated to get back into winning formFilipina atomweight sensation Jomary “The Zamboanganian Fighter” Torres burst onto the ONE Championship scene in spectacular fashion back in 2017, shocking the world in her promotional debut with an upset submission victory over Thai mixed martial arts star Rika “Tinydoll” Ishige in Macau.Torres only continued to rise in her next assignments, as she cruised past Nita Dea via unanimous decision before putting on a dominant performance in a 40-second TKO victory over top contender April Osenio.Torres’ masterful display of power against Osenio was enough to get people talking about her as a legitimate contender to the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Championship, currently held by Singaporean mixed martial arts icon Angela Lee.

Unfortunately for the 22-year old Catalan Fighting System Philippines product, her meteoric rise came to a crashing halt at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES in Jakarta, Indonesia last 22 September, as she fell flat against hometown favorite Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol.
Torres was hell-bent on scoring takedowns, but was ultimately unsuccessful in her endeavor as Gaol outworked and outstruck the Filipina en route to a clear-cut unanimous decision victory.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for Torres, who found herself on the wrong end of the judges’ scorecards for the first time in her professional career. “It’s frustrating. This is definitely something that I don’t want to experience again,” Torres said of her maiden career loss.
“Instead of making the necessary adjustments, I kept on forcing the issue. I really wanted to take her down, but I just couldn’t do it, and Priscilla capitalized on that. She was the better competitor that night,” she added.

Now, faced with the unfamiliar task of needing to bounce back from a loss for the first time, Torres admits that some of the pressure of preserving an unbeaten record intact has been alleviated. “I have to admit that it’s kind of a relief for me because, I can focus on getting better and becoming an even more well-rounded mixed martial artist,” she expressed.
Armed with a renewed sense of motivation and the determination to avoid the undesirable feeling of defeat, Torres vows to come back a better and stronger competitor.

“It’s just one loss, it’s just my first loss. This is definitely not the end for me. I promise I will be back,” she proudly exclaimed. More than anything, Torres, says that the loss will only fuel her to get back on track and work harder towards becoming a world champion in mixed martial arts.“Many champions have gotten better after losing for the first time, and I plan to do the same. I believe this is just the beginning for me, and one day I will get to the top of the ONE Championship womens’ atomweight division,” she declared.

Filipino boxing champ Jerwin Ancajas makes special appearance at ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES

Another update,  ONE Championship is ensuring a festive week heading to its much-awaited live event in Bangkok, Thailand as Asia’s premier martial arts organization is bringing one of the most celebrated boxing champions on Saturday, 6 October.
Rising Filipino boxing superstar Jerwin “Pretty Boy” Ancajas will be making a special appearance at ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES, which is headlined by a scheduled 12-round championship clash between WBC Super Flyweight World Champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Mexican challenger Iran “MagnifiKO” Diaz.

“I am excited to meet all of the adoring martial arts fans in Bangkok this weekend. The Thai people are so passionate about combat sports. ONE Championship has prepared a stacked card featuring a solid group of local competitors mixed in with some of the best international talents on the company’s roster,” he said.
“Aside from mixed martial arts and Muay Thai matches, ONE Championship will hold its first boxing bout on Saturday. I am ready for an amazing night of action. I can’t wait to be there and witness some fireworks,” Ancajas added.

Hailing from Panabo City, Davao del Norte in the Philippines, Ancajas has been touted as the next standard bearer of the country’s well-established boxing scene after capturing the IBF Super Flyweight World Championship against McJoe Arroyo in September 2016.
Since his world title-capturing performance two years ago, Ancajas has defended his red-laced boxing strap on six different occasions.

Ancajas, who holds a professional boxing record of 30-1-2 with 20 knockouts, settled for a split draw in his most recent outing against Mexico’s Alejandro Santiago Barrios.
The 26-year-old Filipino southpaw looks to square off with some of the big names in the 115-pound weight class early next year, including Sor Rungvisai, Khalid “Kal” Yafai and Juan Francisco Estrada.

Ancajas was at ringside this past April to watch ONE: HEROES OF HONOR live in Manila, Philippines, which left a lasting impression in him due to the organization’s work in its world-class production and exceptional promotion of its athletes.
"Last April, it’s my first time to watch a live mixed martial arts event. I've always watched it on TV, but it's a whole different experience seeing it live. I really had a delightful time. The production value is truly world-class,” the boxer shared.

Ancajas pointed out that ONE Championship’s dive into the boxing scene would make a huge impact on the sport.

"ONE Championship is a huge promotion. It will be good for boxing because there are only a few big boxing promoters in the Philippines and in Asia. This kind of support is needed, and should boxing have this kind of events, it will be a huge help for boxing in the region,” he stressed.

Based in La Trinidad, Benguet, Team Lakay has accounted for five of the six ONE World Champions that represent the Philippines, including Honorio Banario, Eduard Folayang, Geje Eustaquio, Kevin Belingon, and most recently, Joshua Pacio.

And while these Igorot warriors have done a lot in putting Philippine mixed martial arts on the map and making the Philippines one of the biggest martial arts markets in Asia, a number of other Filipino fighters have all put in the work and have done well in bannering the Philippine flag on the ONE Championship stage.

From Rene Catalan to Jomary Torres, Eric Kelly to Jeremy Miado, Filipino martial artists have done their part in building the reputation of Filipino mixed martial artists as some of the world’s best competitors. At ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES just this past 22 September in Jakarta, Indonesia, a pair of Filipino stars emerged with their arms raised in victory as Danny Kingad defeated Yuya Wakamatsu in a flyweight showdown, while Joshua Pacio became the newest ONE titleholder after defeating Yoshitaka Naito to become the new ONE Strawweight World Champion.

At ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES on Saturday, 6 October in Bangkok, Thailand, another Filipino martial artist aims to keep the country’s momentum going.
Kicking things off at the Impact Arena in Bangkok will be a flyweight bout between Filipino Kyokushin Karate black belt Ramon “The Bicolano” Gonzales and Indonesian Dodi “The Maung” Mardian. Gonzales is coming off an extended layoff due to work outside of competition, but now is nothing short of excited to make his return to the ONE Championship ring and get his second consecutive win.

“I’m really excited to be competing in ONE Championship again,” Gonzales shared. “I had to focus on work overseas for a while, but I’m back now and I can’t wait to feel the rush of competition again.”Gonzales boasts a 2-2 professional mixed martial arts record, and is coming off a second-round submission victory over Deligherihu Liu back in September of 2017. For the Albay, Bicol native, there’s nothing quite like being able to represent the Philippines in the biggest martial arts organization in the world.

“I can honestly say that nothing compares to carrying the Philippine flag in international competition. This is something that will always give me great pride, it is definitely an honor.” Gonzales added that seeing his compatriots succeed in ONE Championship is definitely a source of motivation and inspiration. “I’m happy to see my fellow Filipinos go far in this sport and in ONE Championship. It gives me the confidence to believe in myself and also aspire for the same level of success. It is definitely inspiring to see them succeed,” he added.

Aside from Gonzales, another Filipino will be competing on the card, as former IFMA Muay Thai world champion Robin “The Ilonggo” Catalan takes on Japanese submission specialist Hayato Suzuki in a preliminary flyweight contestFor more updates on ONE Championship, please visit www.onefc.com, follow us on Twitter and Instagram @ONEChampionship, and like us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ONEChampionship.

Team Lakay’s Joshua Pacio and Danny Kingad dedicate victories to the victims of Typhoon Mangkhut

ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES last 22 September in Jakarta, Indonesia proved to be a big night for famed Filipino mixed martial arts stable Team Lakay.
That night at the Jakarta Convention Center, a pair of Team Lakay’s young guns in Joshua “The Passion” Pacio and Danny “The King” Kingad scored landmark victories.

In the main event, Pacio dethroned Yoshitaka Naito via unanimous decision to capture the ONE Strawweight World Championship and avenge his 2016 defeat at the hands of the Japanese submission specialist. It was the third world championship win in 2018 for Team Lakay, as Pacio joined the likes of reigning ONE Interim Bantamweight World Champion Kevin Belingon and undisputed ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje Eustaquio.

Certainly, Team Lakay had all reason to celebrate that night, but not before giving a special shout out their fellow Cordillera natives who were recently affected by the wrath of Typhoon Mangkhut, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Ompong, just a week prior to the event.
During the post-bout interview with Mitch Chilson, Pacio dedicated his championship win to the people who were still reeling from the typhoon.

“Last week, typhoons struck Baguio City, Benguet, and the Cordilleras. A lot of places were hit hard. Many people died and some are still missing. This is for all of them. I know that the Cordilleras will come back and rise again soon as one,” Pacio expressed.
During the post-bout press conference backstage, Pacio continued to show solidarity with his brothers and sisters from the Cordillera Region.

“This bout is really for those who were severely affected by the typhoon in Baguio,” he added. “In the municipality of Itogon, that’s where a lot of my family is. A lot of my cousins are there, and thank God that none of them were hit hard.”
“However, we do know a lot of people who were badly affected and still trying to recover from this. My heart goes out to all of them. This championship is for them,” Pacio continued.

Earlier that night, Kingad bucked a slow start to earn a dominant unanimous decision win over Japanese newcomer Yuya Wakamatsu in a three-round flyweight contest.
Like Pacio, Kingad also had some words of hope for the people in Itogon, Benguet.

“I’m really happy with my win, but it isn’t just mine. This win is for my family and for the people that were affected by the typhoon in Itogon,” he stated.
Pacio and Kingad have both faced adversity and setbacks in their careers, but have bounced back stronger and in spectacular fashion.

Kingad believes that the people of the Cordilleras can do the same as well.
“People from Benguet, people from the Cordilleras, we are strong. We are warriors. I have no doubt in my mind that they will be back on their feet and recover from this like champions,” he proudly concluded.

JOSHUA PACIO

JOSHUA PACIO DETAILS HOW HE OVERCOME YOSHITAKA NAITO TO BECOME ONE STRAWWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION

It took two tries, but finally, Filipino strawweight star Joshua “The Passion” Pacio is now the ONE Strawweight World Champion. The 22-year old Team Lakay stalwart used his superior striking and much-improved grappling defense to outpoint erstwhile champion Yoshitaka “Nobita” Naito of Japan by unanimous decision in the main event of ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia last 22 September.

It was the perfect sequel to their 2016 encounter, as Pacio and Naito brought out the best in each other for an action-packed five round affair. At the end, it was Pacio who left with his hand raised and the world title on his shoulder after earning the victory on all three of the judges’ scorecards.

“Yoshitaka Naito is a very patient inside the cage,” Pacio said after 25-minute bout. “Plus, he can absorb some hard shots without slowing down. He’s really hard to go against because he keeps moving forward, no matter what you throw at him.”
And while it was something that Pacio had to deal with, Naito’s toughness was not an unexpected aspect of the Japanese star’s game.
“I expected for him to be able to take my hardest shots,” Pacio explained. “If you look back at his match with Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, he absorbed a lot of kicks and punches but he kept powering forward, so I expected that he’d be able to do the same against me.”

“I hurt him with a kick to the body in the first round and while it did have him on the defensive for a bit, he’s really strong and he kept pushing for the takedowns. I knew he could take those hard shots.” he added. While Pacio did impose his will on standup department, it was his ground defense that ultimately may have secured him the championship. Pacio did a good job of defending takedowns in the early rounds, but Naito eventually managed to take the Filipino down. From there however, Pacio managed to stifle any attempts at offense that Naito attempted.

“Yes, he did manage to take me down, but I kept him from passing my guard and gaining any positional advantage,” he elaborated. “Even if he scored the takedown, if he couldn’t pass guard or move into a better and more advantageous position, he wouldn’t be able to score any points because he was just stuck in guard.” And even on his back, Pacio made sure to stay busy by punishing Naito with strikes from the bottom position.

“While on top, he was punching me a bit, but I was answering back with some elbows of my own, so I believe it was a close fight on the ground. Standing up, Naito was able to tag me a few times, so it shows that he really worked on his striking as well.”
That night however, belonged to Pacio, who becomes the third member of Team Lakay to become a ONE World Champion in 2018, joining reigning ONE Interim Bantamweight World Champion Kevin Belingon and reigning ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje Eustaquio.
“I’m so happy, I can’t explain what I’m feeling right now,” and elated Pacio admitted. “I did not know whether I was going cry or laugh when they announced the decision after the bout. It was an unexplainable feeling.” For more updates on ONE Championship, please visit www.onefc.com, follow us on Twitter and Instagram @ONEChampionship, and like us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ONEChampionship.

 CONQUEST OF HEROES

Danny Kingad banked on continuously-improving grappling game to ground hard-hitting foe at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES Filipino flyweight phenom Danny “The King” Kingad recorded another impressive victory as he edged out Japanese newcomer Yuya “The Little Piranha” Wakamatsu at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES last 22 September in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Team Lakay stalwart claimed his third-straight win and his eleventh mixed martial arts career win overall.Making Kingad’s performance all the more impressive was that he had to weather an early striking storm from the hard-hitting Wakamatsu to grind out a unanimous decision victory after three rounds of action.

In the first round, Wakamatsu showcased his much-talked about power as he rattled the Filipino with a hard low kick and then followed that up moments later with a right straight that dropped Kingad. “That punch caught me off-guard,” Kingad admitted. “I really felt his power in that punch. That’s when I knew I had to switch things up.”
Looking to survive the onslaught, Kingad relied on his wrestling to grab hold of Wakamatsu and take the Japanese striker down to the mats.

On the mat, Kingad imposed his will and took over the match.
“When I got hit hard, I decided that I need to shoot for his legs,” he explained. “When I was able to get him down with relative ease, I saw that I probably won’t be having any trouble trying to take him down, and I stuck with that game plan for the rest of the match.”
“Coach Mark Sangiao drew up a game plan, and that was to throw strikes to set up a takedown, because we knew that wrestling would be my advantage,” Kingad added.

After the tumultuous opening moments of the first round, Kingad executed the game plan perfectly, mixing up his punches and kicks to time his takedowns well and get the action to the ground almost at will. Having it his way on the canvas, Kingad displayed his continuously-improving ground game as he threatened to end the bout with a submission on a number of occasions.

“We knew coming in that he was a striker, a knockout artist,” he expressed. “After taking him down the first time, I felt that my power over him was my wrestling and my ground game, so that got me energized, and that’s where I attacked him throughout the whole match.” After a hard-fought fifteen-minute contest, it was Kingad who had his hand raised in front of the martial arts fans at the Jakarta Convention Center.

“I’m really happy with this win. It was a tough one, but God is good and He helped me get this win,” he claimed. With a winning streak going, the former ONE Flyweight World Championship contender is inching closer and closer back to top contender status in the stacked 61.2-kilogram weight division. “I’m ready for anyone. Whoever ONE Championship wants to put in front of me, that’s who I’ll prepare for,” he concluded.

PASIG RIVER MASTER PLAN COMPLETED

The PRRC, in collaboration with UP PLANADES, designed the Pasig River Integrated and Strategic Master Plan (PRISM) with a vision that by 2032, the Pasig River and its surrounding basins are resilient life-sustaining ecosystems that are able to support diverse human needs and biodiversity towards inclusive, harmonized, and balanced development co-managed by competent and adaptive institutions with responsible and empowered communities.

This new restoration strategy covers water quality management, stream flow management, catchment management and riparian management so that the Pasig River will again enshrine socioeconomic, aesthetic, environmental, recreational and cultural values amid changing risks and natural perturbations.
The illustration below provides a brief summary of the integrated wastewater treatment systems, one of the 19 priority projects proposed in the PRISM to help improve the water quality of the Pasig River, and for concerned agencies to comply with concession agreement, and other environmental laws.

PH’S PASIG RIVER VIES FOR ASIA RIVER PRIZE AWARD; COMPETES WITH CHINA’S YANGTZE RIVER

The Philippines' Pasig River, the cradle of early Manila civilization, has been selected as a finalist in the first ever Asia Riverprize by the prestigious International RiverFoundation (IRF) which recognizes and rewards organizations who are making a difference through effective river basin restoration and management programs.

It is a back-to-back nomination for the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) who just came from a successful campaign in the 2017 Thiess International Riverprize competition where the Pasig River was hailed as runner-up to the winner, San Antonio River of Texas, USA.

PRRC Executive Director Jose Antonio E. Goitia says that “the consecutive entries of the Pasig River as a finalist in the 2017 and 2018 Thiess International and Asia Riverprize, respectively, is a testament that the world recognizes the efforts of the Philippine government to restore the Pasig River and its environs since PRRC was established in 1999.”

Initially, the competition was called the Asia-Pacific Riverprize Awards which was opened to entrants from New Zealand, Australia, and 45 other countries. However, according to the IRF, due the to the high number and quality of entries received, they have made the decision to split the promoted Asia-Pacific Riverprize into two: Asia Riverprize and another category for the Australasia Riverprize.

After a series of tedious deliberations, the IRF has announced and congratulates the organizations chosen as Asia Riverprize finalists with the highest honors in river restoration and protection namely: the Pasig River (Philippines) and the Yangtze River (China).

Goitia adds “last year, the Philippines is the only third world and developing country that made it into the international finals and bravely competed with the US and the United Kingdom. In this year’s Asia Riverprize, we will be facing another super power – the red dragon, China. However, with an indomitable spirit, we remain steadfast and optimistic that we will stand triumphant in the end.”

In behalf of the IRF’s board of river basin experts, IRF Director Professor Bill Dennison says that “these different river stories are united by a common theme: excellence in river management.”

The Riverprize is not a competition of which river is more beautiful or cleaner. This is the reason why the IRF, comprised of river management experts and professionals from around the world, has given importance and consideration to the rehabilitation efforts of the PRRC to bring back the Pasig River system to life. It has acknowledged PRRC’s commitment in delivering quality projects, programs, and activities in easement recovery, housing and resettlement, riverbanks development, waste and water quality management, and public awareness.

Compared to the 1990s when it was declared "biologically dead," the Pasig River's condition now has significantly improved. Although the Pasig River development is a work in progress, many areas along the historic river have already shown signs of aquatic life and it has already become conducive for transport, recreation, and tourism.

PRRC’s Executive Director Jose Antonio E. Goitia, together with Public Information, Advocacy and Tourism Division Head George Oliver G. De La Rama, will be presenting and defending the Philippines’ Pasig River entry to a panel of esteemed judges in the upcoming 21st International Riversymposium on October 14 to 18, 2018 in Sydney, Australia. Members of PRRC’s Management Committee will also form part of the Philippine delegation.

The winner of the 2018 Asia Riverprize will receive widespread global recognition which can build new partnerships, provide opportunities for exchange of knowledge and best practices, and open doors for international support. Furthermore, the winner will automatically qualify for Stage Two of the Thiess International Riverprize in 2019.

As one nation, the PRRC seeks everyone’s support to its Pasig River entry in the 2018 Asia Riverprize. The Pasig River's victory is the victory of the Philippines and every Filipino who works hard and shares the same vision of saving our waterways and the environment. It will be the triumph of all who believe that the dream of a clean and alive Pasig River is within reach!

WeChatPay

WeChatPay, 58Pay and Tag Media Group merged in the Philippines to prepare for the influx of Chinese tourists

WeChatPay from China expansion has been focused on Chinese tourists abroad rather than launching local versions of the platform.

Right now, there’s an ongoing orientation and training of the platform which was launch recently in the Philippines by some of the companies under Yupangco Group (Filremit, Yupangco Electronics Corporation, Manila Express, Zoomanity Group, Yamaha Music among others). Now launched as 58Pay with Bong De Ocampo and Robert Laurel Yupangco as partners and recently introduced to the public with the media at UnliCity, Century City Mall, Makati.

According to WeChatPay, “We focused on expanding the payments service abroad, but it has stopped short of trying to create a local version of the platform for other countries. Instead, the company has been focused on signing up merchants in many countries to accept the payment system so Chinese tourists can use the payments platform abroad and right now in the Philippines.”

According to Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas, one of the partners of 58Pay, “We are looking for merchants which Chinese tourists are fond to go , just like some outlets and duty free, some famous restaurants like Samgyupsalamat, theme parks, hotels and companies like Air Asia & Jeju Air.

In the Philippines, the expectation is to increase the Chinese tourist especially now that the Duterte administration has a good relationship with China.

To know more about it, please call 09778978877 or 219 3503 to be one of the merchants.

World-class natural remedy for Filipina

World-class natural remedy for Filipina beauty & wellness expert’s crowning glory
Hair loss is a concern for both men and women. It can have a devastating effect to anyone who experiences it. According to Web MD, the average adult head has about 100,000 to 150,000 strands of hair and loses up to 100 of them a day, which is normal. As people age, their rate of hair growth slows, and they can experience losing more than hundreds of strands which is quite alarming. So what can you do to prevent it?
For beauty and wellness expert, Cory Quirino, embracing wellness is the first step to help improve the hair’s condition and make people look younger.

“If you choose to have a wellness lifestyle, then expect wonderful changes such as radiant skin, energy, and a general sense of well-being,” she emphasizes.“In time, you will realize that you have successfully delayed the aging process.”

The beauty and wellness expert says that choosing wellness as a lifestyle includes eating nutritious food, exercising, getting a good sleep, drinking generous amounts of water, managing stress, getting enough sunshine, and above all, staying positive.

On top of a daily healthy regimen, a supplement is necessary to maintain a healthy hair and scalp. Many people opt to use chemical-based products. But for her, the use of natural products is a must and the best solution for hair loss.

“There are hair treatment products in the market today that claim to be effective but their ingredients could contain chemicals that may prove harmful with long-term use,” she enthuses. “Choose natural. Say NO to harsh chemicals and let nature do the makeover,” she emphasizes.

Natural ingredients such as virgin coconut oil (VCO) and aloe vera are loaded with beneficial properties, which boost the health of the scalp and hair. These and much more natural herbs and essential oils can be found in NOVUHAIR, a topical scalp lotion with 19 natural ingredients that work in synergy to help prevent hair loss, which the beauty and wellness expert approves of.

“Even if I have been blessed with thick hair, I know that it has to be cared for,” she maintains. “I use NOVUHAIR topical scalp lotion once daily in the evening before bedtime. Next morning, I apply it on my scalp again, then a shampoo after 30 minutes. Those who wish to further thicken the hair, it is a must to also use the shampoo and conditioner daily.”

Eventually, she noticed impressive effects after using this breakthrough product: significant lessening of hair fall, abundant growth of tress, and the return of locks’ luster.
Apart from being effective, it’s a very safe solution, too. A local clinical study has proven that NOVUHAIR has no adverse side effects with continuous use.

Moreover, NOVUHAIR is not just for those who experience hair loss. Younger people, especially the millennials, can use it for maintenance or prevention if hair loss runs in the family.Cory recommends NOVUHAIR to everyone, especially to those who want to maintain their hair the best way they can. For her, this globally-competitive natural product answers the needs of a discriminating, health-conscious public.

Born on August 11, the granddaughter of the late Philippine President Elpidio Quirino is an author, and television and radio host. She has been a strong advocate for natural health, beauty, and wellness for more than two decades.

“Twenty years ago, it was as simple a goal as weight loss. But when I saw the dramatic effect it had on my vitality and complexion, I knew that this was the good path to take. For those who wish the same things I wanted then, this would be just as easy to embrace,” Cory recalls.

She wrote a series of best-seller books entitled “Forever Young”, which feature beauty and health tips as well as her own workout programs. Likewise, she also made a fitness video called “Cory Quirino’s Celebrity Workout for Beginners”.

For her, living in the 21st century has its challenges. She says: “The best way to live long and be well is to live a natural life.”
Truly, for a natural woman like Cory, her crowning glory deserves nothing but a world-class natural remedy that is NOVUHAIR.

NOVUHAIR is available at Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores nationwide. You may also have the product delivered right at your doorstep through Lazada at https://bit.ly/2Jc92Vk

Melissa brings the future of fashion to the world

MANILA, Philippines – There is no denying the talents of Shaira Luna. From an early age, she graced our TV screens as a “gifted child”. Her passion for learning set her apart and would eventually lead her to forge her own career as one of the most prominent photographers in the country. This July, the thirty-one year old takes her place as Melissa’s Style Maven.

#MeInMelissa is the latest campaign in the Philippines from the Brazilian footwear icon, Melissa Shoes. This fresh and empowering digital campaign will showcase pieces from the brand’s 2018 collection, Open Vibes. Luna shares her talent as the campaign’s official photographer.

“I really love that Melissa shoes are comfortable and squishy”, shares Shaira Luna, chuckling. “Sometimes I take for granted how important footwear is, especially for someone like me who’s on my feet for most of the day. Eventually, I found my way to shoes that fit the bill of being both stylish and comfortable.”

At the age of thirteen, Luna found herself at De La Salle University, undergoing a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology. After switching courses for some time, Luna purchased her first professional camera, a Canon EOS 350D. The camera enabled her to flex her creative muscles and would eventually inspire her to pursue a professional career in photography.

In the decade since, Shaira Luna gradually developed herself to become one of the most prolific young photographers in the country. Luna regularly works with high-profile brands and influential names from the world of art and entertainment.

“Behind the camera, especially when shooting for someone else, I make sure I understand their vision and I understand the output that they need from me”, Luna begins. “I just try to make it work for everyone and keep communication open.”

This level of professionalism extends itself to moments that require Luna to stand in front of the camera.

“When I’m in front of the camera, I try to take the place of the photographer,” Luna adds. “I try to imagine what they need from the shoot and I try to move as quickly as possible. I find it is over much faster if I get what they need, so I tend to move a lot in front of the camera even if it’s awkward for me.”

As a fashion photographer, Luna is well-regarded for her personal sense of style. Self-described as an “ever-evolving” aesthetic, she draws her inspiration from rock ’n roll icons of yesterday and today.

“I love Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine) so much! I really love her style and her music,” Luna shares. “I also like Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. I’m very much inspired by icons of the ‘70’s. I’m not sure why. Maybe someday I’ll find out.”

Even then, Luna is quick to admit that a lot of her style inspiration comes from the research she does prior to a shoot.

“In general, I’m very much into the history of fashion and that translates into my style and the people I admire as well,” Luna adds. “I think the reason I got into studying eras of fashion was because of my shoots. So, whenever I have a shoot that’s inspired by a particular period, I find myself going even deeper into what happened during that time, especially the things they wore and why they wore the things they did.”

If there is anything Shaira Luna can share, it’s her love for rediscovering the past through pieces of clothing. “If you just use your imagination, you can try to rework the stuff you already have. Perhaps you can use stuff from your parents and grandparents. You end up with something more unique, something not cookie-cutter. Just something more fun that will put a smile on your face.”

Shaira Luna is an old soul who has built her name by turning her dreams into a successful career. This is reflected in both her personal style and her approach to her work. This bubbly, determined, and highly focused individual has all the qualities that make her the perfect fit as Melissa’s first Style Maven.

ONE: REIGN OF KINGS ONE Championship

Manila, Philippines: The largest global sports media property in Asian history, ONE Championship™ (ONE), electrified the packed Mall of Asia Arena with another evening of authentic world-class martial arts action. The state-of-the-art showground played host to ONE: REIGN OF KINGS, featuring the absolute best in local and international martial arts talent. In the main event, hometown hero Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon of Baguio City, Philippines overcame a stiff challenge from two-division ONE World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, winning by unanimous decision to claim the ONE Interim Bantamweight World Championship.

In the main event of ONE: REIGN OF KINGS, Filipino dynamo Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon derailed Martin Nguyen’s goal to become a three-division world champion by outclassing the ONE Featherweight and Lightweight World Champion with his striking superiority. With his hometown crowd cheering behind him, Belingon effortlessly picked Nguyen apart in the stand-up, jolting the two-division titleholder with stunning left hooks and perfectly-executed spinning back kicks. In the end, all three judges scored the bout in favor of Belingon to win by unanimous decision after an intense five-round affair, bringing home the ONE Interim Bantamweight World Championship.

Kevin Belingon, ONE Interim Bantamweight World Champion, stated: “I can’t explain this feeling, I’m the happiest athlete tonight. Thank you to all the people who came out to support me, and of course to ONE Championship, my team, my coaches and trainers, and my teammates. To Martin [Nguyen], it was an honor fighting you. You’re such a great athlete and champion. I trained very hard for this fight, just to get this belt. I’m proud to be a champion representing the Philippines. My friend Bibiano [Fernandes], I respect him as a champion, but we’re in the same weight class and I’m the top contender. So there is no escape in facing me. I hope you recover fast and we can make the fight this year.”

In the co-main event of the evening, former ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki of Japan smoothly steered to a first-round stoppage victory over Thai martial arts superstar Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai. It quickly became the beginning of the end for Wiratchai just minutes into the first round, as he was effortlessly taken down by Aoki. On the mat, Aoki barely gave Wiratchai room to breathe, raining down a torrent of punishing elbows that compelled the referee to step in and call a halt to the contest. The victory earned Aoki GoDaddy Knockout of the Night honors.

Brazilian legend Renzo Gracie made a triumphant return to mixed martial arts competition after eight long years, having his hand raised in victory at the expense of Japanese martial arts pioneer Yuki Kondo. Following a lengthy feeling-out process between the two grizzled veterans in the first round, Gracie shifted gears in the second frame and immediately drove his foe to the mat. Taking Kondo’s back, Gracie fastened a wrenching rear naked choke with no hesitation, which left his opponent no choice but to tap.

Hometown hero Eduard “Landslide” Folayang of Baguio City, Philippines turned in another complete performance, earning a unanimous decision win over previously unbeaten Aziz Pahrudinov of Russia. Folayang operated behind a relentless stream of leg kicks that left Pahrudinov hampered throughout the three-round contest. Connecting on his combinations with laser-like precision, Folayang dominated the bout as the three judges sitting cageside awarded him the victory.

International grappling superstar Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon of the United States was successful in his second appearance in the ONE Championship cage, defeating Rahul “The Kerala Krusher” Raju of India via submission in round three. After testing his striking abilities for the majority of the first two rounds, Tonon went back to his strengths in the third, taking the action to the canvas where he fastened a deep rear naked choke to seal the deal.

After falling short in his ONE Super Series debut two months ago, two-time Muay Thai World Champion Chris Ngimbi sought the redemption that he desired, edging out Armen Petrosyan via split decision in their three-round catch weight kickboxing showdown. Although Petrosyan kept himself aggressive all throughout the contest, Ngimbi landed the more telling blows from bell to bell, which was enough to persuade two of three cageside judges to score in his favor.

In a ONE Super Series Muay Thai contest, former ONE Warrior Series entrant Panicos Yusuf of Cyprus earned a unanimous decision victory over Han Zi Hao of China after a gruelling three-round affair. Operating behind a sound game plan and well-placed strikes, Yusuf countered Han consistently with a myriad of combinations off the back foot. In the end, all three judges scored the bout in favor of Yusuf.

Former ONE World Title challenger Joshua “The Passion” Pacio of the Philippines notched his third-straight victory, authoring a spectacular submission victory over rising Thai superstar Pongsiri Mitsatit in the first round. After an emphatic slam to the canvas, Pacio finished the job with a straining armlock, leaving Mitsatit with no other choice but to tap.

Former Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium World Champion Chamuaktong Fightermuaythai of Thailand showcased his world-class striking skills, defeating challenger Brown Pinas of the Netherlands via unanimous decision. Making his ONE Super Series debut, Chamuaktong dazzled, putting his treacherous Muay Thai clinch game on full display, while connecting on a plethora of elbows and knees from close quarters. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Chamuaktong after three rounds.

Filipino martial arts veteran Rene Catalan emerged as an early crowd favorite, bringing the Mall of Asia Arena crowd to their feet with a rousing performance. Over the course of three rounds, Catalan exhibited dynamic striking, feints, sweeping low leg kicks, and a powerful left hook that had highly-regarded opponent Stefer Rahardian of Indonesia in trouble on multiple occasions. In the end, all three judges scored the bout in favor of Catalan to win by unanimous decision.

Kicking off ONE: REIGN OF KINGS was Chinese featherweight sensation “The Stalker” Xie Bin. After a brief grappling exchange on the mat, Xie made quick work of Cambodia’s Sor Sey, finishing with a deep guillotine choke that put his opponent to sleep early in the first round.

PRRC, NCCA and PETA launched “Taga-Alog 2018: Unang Alon” to develop Pasig River

The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Philippine Educational Theatre Association (PETA), national government agencies, local government units (LGUs) and private organizations join forces for the development of the Pasig River through a creative campaign entitled “Taga-Alog, River Pasig: Balik Tanaw, Balik Sigla!" launched today, June 28, 2018.

The PRRC, NCCA, and PETA together with Department of Tourism (DOT), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), local governments of Pasig, Makati, Manila, Mandaluyong, San Juan and Marikina and the British Council convened to promote the development of Pasig River as a source of Filipino identity.

The Taga-Alog is a project paying homage to the Pasig River as medium and space for collective memory and cultural identity and to show concern for the community through the artistic creations and research initiatives that can be used by the community as a basis for crafting development initiatives

According to PRRC Executive Director Jose Antonio E. Goitia “we welcome the various art forms that will be used to promote the value and significance of the Pasig River as a source of Filipino cultural identity and PRRC will do its best to support and help in the realization of these advocacy projects.”

To strengthen the cooperation between agencies, a memorandum of understanding has been signed by the officials of the aforementioned agencies for the implementation of the campaign.

Under the agreement, the group will conduct series of researches for the formulation of creative strategies and site development of Pasig River and the communities alongside it. The campaign will be experienced through visual arts, films/ photography, literature, music, dance, theatre which will be shared in multimedia platforms.

Goitia emphasized the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors for the success of the project. "This project will foster the enrichment of a Filipino national culture. In this way, more people would eventually give importance and appreciation for the Pasig River," Goitia concluded.

PRRC, LIAC relocates Talayan Fire Victims

The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) and the Local Inter-Agency Committee (LIAC) of Quezon City relocated 111 illegal occupants at San Francisco River, Barangay Talayan on July 25, 2018.

The said families were victims of a major fire that occurred last August 11, 2017, and were immediately offered relocation assistance but they did not cooperate.
Various relocation sites have been offered since 2013 which include San Jose Del Monte, Norzagaray, Pandi and Balagtas in Bulacan and Morong in Rizal for off-road relocation as well as in Tala and Camarin Residences in Caloocan City for near city relocation and Holy Spirit Relocation Site in Quezon City for in-city relocation.
After several times Pre-Demolition Conferences, the PRRC and LIAC eventually won the cooperation of some ISFs but the majority still refused to voluntarily demolish their houses and to be relocated.

The ISFs refusing relocation were claiming that the land was awarded to them.
According to PRRC Executive Director Jose Antonio E. Goitia, from the 160 ISFs in Barangay Talayan, a total of 49 families relocated by the PRRC in collaboration with the NHA (National Housing Authority) and the LIAC in Morong, Rizal.
Of the 49 families, 39 ISFs were relocated in September 2017, eight ISFs on July 27, 2017 and two ISFs on May 29, 2018.

The presence of the remaining ISFs had delayed the San Francisco River development projects of the PRRC such as the widening of the river, bank improvement, dredging and linear park development. The scope of the project would directly benefit Barangays Damayan, Mariblo and Talayan in Quezon City.During the meeting, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) released the subdivision plan / cadastral map based on the 26.4 + 3 meter legal easement of the San Francisco River project supplemental to the Supreme Court mandamus on waterways.
The local government of Quezon City likewise dismantled the informal settlements to ensure that the relocatees would not come back.

“I am sad that we have reached this point. It is important that we expedite and complete the rehabilitation and development of the San Francisco River because it is a major tributary of the San Juan River, which drains to the Pasig River,” Executive Director Goitia explained.

Hakata Ikkousha Manila: Ramen Weather More Fun in the Philippines

Ramen weather feels? Make Hakata Ikkousha your happy place to keep you warm and satisfy your cravings.

If you live or work within or near Alabang, or you’re willing to go south of Manila for the best ramen in town (and worldwide), consider yourself lucky! It’s one of the newest restaurants at Festival Mall Expansion Area, just beside Studio Bake at the Upper Ground Floor.

What’s the big deal about Hakata Ikkousha anyway? If you’ve never heard about it at all, it’s about time for you to discover that this famous ramen establishment can be found not just in Japan but also in China, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Brazil, the USA, Australia and now, the Philippines (close to 60 outlets in total).

Fast facts about Hakata Ikkousha Manila:

* The only Manila outlet so far, located at Festival Mall Alabang, opened on March 3, 2018
* Another outlet in the Philippines is in the Visayas, at JY Square in Lahug, Cebu City.
* The restaurant name came from a known ramen hotspot in Fukuoka named Hakata-ku, a.k.a. Hakata Ward + the brand Ikkousha (pronounced i-KŌ-sha), a term that means “one happy place”.
* Kousuke Yoshimura, the master chef who started the Ikkousha brand in 2004, wanted his diners to have a memorable time with every bowl of his special Hakata ramen.
* In 2011, the Ikkousha franchise was born. Yoshimura’s ramen first reached Jakarta in Indonesia, followed by more cities in and outside Asia.
* Hakata Ikkousha Manila’s owners are Shigehiro and Marivic Tomoda.

The Hakata ramen is being recognized and loved by loyal patrons as the “tonkotsu ramen”. Most Filipinos are very familiar with the breaded pork dish or “tonkatsu” and it’s an entirely different concept. Tonkotsu means “pork bone”, and the tonkotsu ramen broth is being made for two days purely out of pork bones and water (yes, just these two and no other ingredients). The tonkotsu must be the best of its kind and cleaned for hours before the broth preparation method called “Yobimodoshi”.

If Japanese collagen products are bestselling anti-aging products, so is the Hakata tonkotsu ramen. Hence, this deserves your undivided attention: the broth produced the traditional Yobimodoshi way is best characterized by its thick and creamy texture with froth rich in collagen called “umami bubbles”. More bubbles means more collagen (and more pork bone flavor too)! The slow simmering time, not milk, creates these bubbles. If you hear some customers calling the tonkotsu ramen “tonkotsu cappuccino”, don’t be surprised. Now you know why. 😉

Apart from the broth, a bowl of Hakata Ikkousha tonkotsu ramen boasts of premium quality noodles (made only in the Ikkousha company factory), and braised pork slices or “Cha-shu” that are thin, tender and prepared with minimum amount of seasoning.

When you order ramen at Hakata Ikkousha Manila, you are given an order sheet that allows you to “customize” your ramen according to:

* Ramen type - more details later on
* Noodle texture - soft, normal, hard, very hard (the resto owner Ms. Marivic recommends hard, the texture favored by native Japanese ramen lovers)
* Saltiness - light or normal (just the right amount)
* Spice level - 1 (least) to 4 (most)
* Spring onions - with, without or served in a separate bowl
* Add-on toppings like the flavored egg (never take this for granted as it tastes really good 👌), cha-shu, spring onions, nori (dried seaweed), bamboo shoots, black fungus mushrooms, bean sprouts
* Kaedama (extra noodles) and extra soup (Japanese version of the Pinoy extra rice dining habit) - served with your order or later on
* Side dishes - choice of gyoza (two thumbs up for this one!) in 5 or 10-piece set or 3-piece chicken karaage (another must-try)

Hakata ramen’s price range is PHP 290 to PHP 470 per order (without add-ons and side orders), and one serving is good for 1-2 persons.
Take your pick as Hakata Ikkousha serves so many choices of ramen:

* Original or the classic tonkotsu topped with cha-shu, spring onions and black fungus mushrooms - choose between Ajitama (added with flavored egg) or Special (with additional flavored egg and cha-shu slices)
* Tonkotsu Black - with burnt garlic oil or “ma-yu” as main ingredient, also comes in Ajitama or Special
* God Fire - the spicy version in Ajitama or Special
* Shio-tonkotsu - the lowest-priced ramen with tonkotsu broth combined with shio (salt) broth, in Ajitama or Special
* Black Fire (the house specialty highly recommended by this blogger) - If you’re undecided between Tonkotsu Black and God Fire, get both in one bowl.

Drinks offered at this Japanese-themed dining place include juices, tea, beer, sodas and bottled water. If you prefer something else over ramen, try Hakata Ikkousha Manila’s rice bowls Cha-Shu Don (PHP 150) and Sisig Don (PHP 160).

Visit Hakata Ikkousha Manila today, order your ramen and get yourself a loyalty card. Just ten stamps to complete and get a bowl of tonkotsu ramen for FREE!
