2018 Banaue International Music Composition Competition

Music indeed is not only a therapeutic medicine but it can also be a tool in restoring a World Heritage Treasure. Yesterday I joined Universal Harvester Incorporated headed by Dr. Milagros O. How and the local government of Banaue Mayor Jerry U. Dapilog as they launched their Banaue Music International Competition. This will take place on July 25, 2018 at Cultural Center of the Philippines.

This Music International Competition for composers is in line with the Banaue Rice Terraces Restoration Project, the grand winner will take home P12,000 USD and 2 consolation prizes of P6,000 USD. Composers around the Philippines and all over the world are all invited to join this phenomenal competition and create a symphonic works to be rehearse with an entire orchestra.

During the launch they showed the current development of this Banaue Rice Terraces Project. As a citizen of this country I am so grateful to take part in spreading this awareness project and encourage everyone to do their part and get involve. We are not just known to be a very rich country in resources but indeed overflowing in talents and skills. This so noble project is very timely as we have lost so many beautiful Heritage, and it’s time for everyone to know that this can't be done by only one group but as a citizen we need to be concerned and take part of it.

As this project progresses, we can one by one take action in restoring more of our Worlds’ Heritage so that the coming generation will still enjoy the exemplary beauty of our country. May this be a stepping stone for other localities to think bigger, and work together in saving what is needed to be save now. Philippines has it's huge excellent beautiful tourist spots, and if we will not start conserving, preserving, and protecting them, what would it look like in the coming years?

So I believe this is the time to be challenged, for Filipinos to be mindful and not only to be supportive of this kind of projects but also be part of it. Be part of the change. We can all do this, and see that Philippines, is still the best place we can ever be. We can have our next generation enjoy that beauty and pass to them the baton in taking care of the Beautiful Rich Philippines!

In lieu with this awareness project, surely Philippines will remain to be one of the most visited country in the world! Thank you so much Universal Harvester Incorporated for this awakening and shaking, for us Filipinos to make a difference! You can be assured that we are all-out in supporting in this project, we salute you!
